Inspired

September 1st, 2009 by aimeem

Whilst I was in France I received two emails from two mothers who have just also had similar experiences to ours with Sydney-Mae and both their little ones also have Cerebral Palsy (CP). I was so touched to hear they had been reading my Blog and it had been of some help to them. One of my main aims when deciding to Blog was for that exact reason; to help people who are starting out on this journey. When we first came out of hospital I especially found it very hard as not only did I not know what Cerebral Palsy was, I also didn’t know anyone who had it or had a child with it. I became very obsessed with ‘Dr Google’ and was constantly reading up about CP. Ross ended up banning me from certain websites as he felt I was making myself ill, which looking back I have to agree. What I really needed was some support from people who were going through the same thing. I thankfully have that now with a few girls I have met through an online forum (special Kids in the UK) and they have really helped me and I now want to help others too.

Also an update into the saga that is her blood tests results! So as I said before the first time they didn’t get the correct bottle, the second time the blood clotted and the third time they did not freeze it in time so it was no use. I went for a clinic appointment the day after the third sample was taken and I had been told the results take at least two weeks to come through. The doctor at the clinic told me the results were back and all was OK. I told her that could not possibly be true being as it has been 1 day and I was told it would take 14. To this I was told “I am sorry madam but they are back”- this went back and forth until I told her I was not going home until I had the correct information. She called a nurse in who advised “no those results were from bloods a month ago”. Needless to say the doctor was very red faced and apologised. I could have gone home happy as Larry that all results were ok-it really feels as though we are dealing with a bunch of monkeys to be honest. How hard can it really be to put a sample in the freezer? So we are still none the wiser another ten weeks down the line!

Oh the joys!
